We know you've been feeding your family and friends for years. The secret rub, the slow cook, the perfect char — it's time to bring that magic to the festival grounds and let the community be the judge.
This is a friendly neighborhood competition open to home cooks — no professional pitmasters, no restaurant teams. Just real people with real recipes and real pride.
Cook-Off Rules
Open to home cooks only. No professional pitmasters, caterers, or restaurant staff.
Chicken leg quarters are the only permitted cut. All other meats are disqualified.
Competitors must supply their own grill, charcoal or wood, seasonings, and equipment.
Cooking begins at a designated time on the day of the festival. All chicken must be cooked on-site.
Each competitor will submit a minimum of 6 leg quarters for judging.
Judging is based on appearance, aroma, taste, and texture. Community judges will score each entry.
The competitor with the highest combined score wins the $100 cash prize.
Entry is free. Space is limited — register early to secure your spot.
All decisions by the judges are final. Good sportsmanship is required.
